Ever wanted to leave a lasting legacy from your conference, or just do something nice for a local charity that adds extra meaning to your event?
The featured photograph was taken of some of the children from a Bangkok orphanage on the day that they received the toys generously donated by some conference delegates from STI International.
The STI leadership team were very keen to do something for a local community as a component of their global conference, so they had us tailor a version of our "Team Toy Story" event for them in Bangkok (the conference destination).
These charity and CSR based approaches deliver not just a high quality team experience and an opportunity to get "out and about" in a destination, but also a unique opportunity to leave a lasting legacy.
As part of the Team Toy Story event teams quested in and around Bangkok to earn points from a wide variety of challenges which were ultimately used at an auction where each team bought as many toys as they could to donate.
An emphasis was placed upon mixing educational toys and materials with the purely fun toys, and then the very hard working guys from the Rotary Club of Bangkok South knew the communities where it would do the most good.
Sometimes conference goers can take for granted the very basics such as fresh water, education and children's toys (let alone the luxury of their hotel venues).
With this in mind it's always refreshing to see groups striving to leave something meaningful behind when they leave whether its educational materials, toys or water, food and hygene initiatives.
These styles of charity and CSR team building events afford conference groups a great opportunity to be far more than just pampered business tourists when they are in town.
